All the Aires Benelux and Scandinavia

This guide is another unique aires guide from Vicarious Books as no other publication has all of the countries in one guide. 175 Scandinavian Aires have been inspected and photographed during 2008. 111 Aires in Benelux were inspected in 2009. Making this the most up-to-date, comprehensive and accurate guide of its kind.

 

The layout of Benelux and Scandinavia Aires guide is exactly the same as All the Aires Spain and Portugal, with two Aires per page the book is A5, though we do not have three photos for every Aire in Scandinavia but we do for Benelux.

The overnight parking rules for Scandinavia are unusual and the same can be said for Benelux this has created an unusual situation of tolerance for motorhomes parking overnight. Needless to say we have gone into detail about this in the beginning of the guide and for each country. For example; Scandinavia encourages open access to its fantastic countryside and wilderness the following phrases are often used, ‘the freedom to roam’, ‘the right of public access’, ‘the right to roam’, ‘everyman’s right’. Though described many ways this basically means the right to walk, cycle, ride, ski and camp on any land except cultivated land and private gardens. Historically open access and was granted with walkers and canvas camping in mind but this generous attitude has encouraged road planners and councils to provide special motorhome facilities.
