Where to park my motorhome on the NC500?

The 2nd edition NC500 Guidebook details 13 camper service points and 21 campsites making it a great resource, but from July 1st 2024 you can now stop over night 12 overnight parking locations and take a free shower at 23 places.

Allan Gunn, Assistant Chief Executive, Highland Council (Corporate), said: “The launch of the Highland Campervan and Motorhome Scheme is understood to be the first of its kind by any UK local authority. ‘Conscious travellers' who opt for the seven-day pass have access to... 12 overnight parking locations and 23 places to take a shower.
“There is an identified need for facilities to accommodate campervans, motorhomes, roof tents and people who are using vehicles for short stayovers.

7 Day Pass Highland pass facts

The Highland Campervan and Motorhome Scheme is voluntary and costs £40 (inclusive of VAT) and lasts for 7 days from the start date selected during purchase.

Access to overnight car parking is not guaranteed and is available on a first come, first served basis:

    • £40 pass is voluntary
    • Overnight parking is from 10pm to 8am
    • There is a no return policy in place at each car park for 72 hours
    • All activities must be contained within the vehicle
    • Use allocated bays when provided
    • Ensure wastewater is disposed of at official sites
    • Free access to showers at 23  High Life Highland leisure locations during normal opening hours – for 2 adults and an unlimited number of children
