How to use Camping France by Michelin?

There is an brief introduction to the guide in French, English, German and Dutch. The symbols and How to Use this Guide sections are also provided in all four languages, including English. The regions of France are then in colour coded sections with occasional photos throughout.

An alphabetical index of town names at the front of the guidebook identifies:

  • French campsites open all year (marked 'Permanent')
  • French campsites that are quiet and peaceful
  • French campsites that are family friendly
  • French campsites offering some sort of activity on site or nearby

A colour-coded, regional map at the front of this French campsite guide makes it easy to find a campsite specific location in the country and overview maps at the front of each region of France identify the campgrounds and the towns nearest to them. An introduction for each region is also provided in French and English.

Directions are very brief giving the road number and direction to drive from the listed town. French campsites are extremely well signed, so finding them is normally easy.

Campsite rates are broken down into components: units, people, electric, other costs. Prices quoted are correct as of Autumn 2017.

A brief description of each site is provided (i.e. 'Beau terrain pres d'un complexe aquatique' - 'Nice area near an aquatic complex'). Also given are: the number of pitches, holiday accommodation for hire (including mobile homes, chalets, bungalows and glamping pods), price for each, price for any additional services (electricity, motorhome service point), and symbols (English translations in introduction) displaying what services and activities are available onsite or nearby. GPS coordinates are provided for every campsite in the format: E: 3.15807 N: 44.18929.
